The Top 10 Run Club Moments of 2024

Christy Hammad

The year 2024 was one for the books in Run Club, Cadence Marketing Solutions' online community for those who influence multifamily marketing. This year brought together marketers, vendors, and owner/operators for groundbreaking collaboration, engaging industry discussions, and valuable educational opportunities both virtually and in-person. As always, it is truly our members that make Run Club so special and we are grateful to share some of the top moments from this year!

One of the most memorable lessons from our leadership series came early in the year when Holli Beckman joined us. One of the standout and most impactful insights Holli shared was how she drives behavior change across her on-site teams. Having previously been a property manager before transitioning into a marketing role and climbing the ranks, Holli brings a unique perspective grounded in empathy and deep understanding of on-site operations. Her firsthand experience enables her to remain closely connected with her on-site teams, ensuring that any initiatives she launches are truly valuable and enhance their efficiency, rather than adding unnecessary burdens.

One of our favorite training tips this year came from Jared Leese in the episode Leasing in Real Life, which aired earlier in the year. Jared, a trainer for Willowbridge, shared a game-changing piece of advice for situations to recognize when repeat training isn't sticking and ask the critical question “Is this a training issue, or is this an accountability issue?” He explained that it's important to address the behavior directly if the training has already been provided but isn’t being applied. At some point, it’s no longer about training but about holding individuals accountable for implementing what they’ve learned.

Another one of our standout sessions this year was Marketing Your Marketing with Lauren Dewey. This episode emphasized the importance of effectively promoting the work we do as marketers. Lauren shared fantastic tips on creating case studies and documenting key aspects of marketing initiatives—not only to replicate success in the future but also to provide solid proof of credibility when pitching new recommendations or strategies. It’s all about showing the value of your work in a way that resonates across the organization.

One of the standout sideline chats this year was a fantastic discussion on branding, kicked off by Stacy Feeney. There have been plenty of great sideline chats, with a wealth of valuable conversations to explore. But this particular chat sparked a ton of engagement and commentary, highlighting how important branding will be heading into 2025.

This year, we celebrated countless member wins in Run Club, from exciting promotions and new ventures to major milestones like brand launches, podcast features, and opportunities to attend industry events like AIM. It’s been incredible to see the growth, collaboration, and success within our community!

We captured some great photos of Run Club members out in the wild this year, including Josh and Leif enjoying video games at the ZIP Code Creative booth at AIM, and we’re looking forward to more photo ops in 2025 when members run into each other at events!

We recently launched a new Wednesday session, Solve That Problem, which has quickly become a hit. Born from sideline chat discussions, this session provides a dedicated space for both operators and vendors to collaborate on solving real challenges. It’s been an excellent opportunity for members to crowdsource solutions and tap into the diverse experiences within the community. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and the conversations are so engaging we always run out of time before we run out of topics. Don’t miss the next one—it’s a valuable resource for everyone!

Run Club has truly swept the nation! What began as a strong presence in Minnesota has expanded significantly. After launching in 2023 on a different platform, we relaunched on the Circle platform in December 2023, and our growth has been strong and steady ever since. We now have members across 11 states, with more likely not yet accounted for. From solo marketers to large teams, we’ve built a diverse community, bringing unique perspectives from different regions. This mix of experience and insights makes Run Club incredibly valuable.

The most-attended session was the "Budget Planning with Vendors" on July 22nd, which demonstrated the value of having vendors and marketers collaborate on budgeting. Second place went to the "Elise AI Founder Session," offering a behind-the-scenes look at startups, while third place was "Do You Need a Data Detox?" with Anthony Paganucci.

Top attendees Leif, Susan, and Brian stood out, with Leif attending an impressive 58 sessions. Their dedication shows the value of regular participation.

In terms of active engagement, Leif, Susan, and Brian participated in many of the conversations, but we also saw strong contributions from newer members and experienced voices alike.

The top sideline chat of 2024 featured Leif on a boat, captured during AIM. This just goes to show that while we’re focused on marketing and business, we also know how to have some fun! And with that, we wrap up the top 10 highlights of 2024.

Members of Run Club have full access to all recorded Run Club Live sessions as well as the collaborative forum conversations happening within our platform.
